Dominykas Digimas’s work is characterised by an ascetic, concentrated soundscape, subtle melancholy, and deep introspection. His practice spans a wide spectrum of sound and musical forms: in addition to his work in academic music, he is actively involved in sound art and the performing arts. His research focuses in particular on the processual nature of soundscapes and on themes of acoustic attentiveness, both closely linked to Vilnius. Acoustic phenomena and their experience in the city form the conceptual and poetic foundation of his work. In compositions intended for concert venues, principles of urban sound are structurally adapted. Site-specifi c works, often integrated with sound walks, allow for a direct experience of the city that differs from everyday perception
