Der Horizont
for countrabass, delays text and video

As you walk from one part of the city to another and listen to its receding sounds, the sounds of another place begin to grow louder at the same time. In this way, the sounds of the two acoustic spaces merge. These sounds, which stay behind at the boundary of the acoustic horizon, slowly falling silent, are like past impressions, memories of them - where you have just been - is still with you for a while, but the place of the old impressions is being taken by new ones. When you look back, they are all there on the horizon... The work uses text from Wim Wenders' Der Himmel über Berlin.
